WESTON EDUCATION FOUNDATION

Our History.

Founded in 1994, the Weston Education Foundation (WEF ) is a volunteer run, non-profit organization that works to foster excellence and innovation in education. WEF was created in response to the need for alternative sources for funding education both within the school system as well as the broader Weston community. Your donations make these important goals possible.

WEF funds educational projects, technologies and initiatives that are not typically within the parameters of the school system budget. As these budgets become increasingly tighter, the need for this funding clearly exists.

The introduction of SMART Boards and the Television Studio at WHS,  as well as co-sponsoring the New Yorker Magazine lunch and learn series with the Weston Public Library, are just a few examples of the meaningful and substantive impact that WEF has had on our schools and our community. These initiatives would not have been possible without the generous support of our donors.

Our Mission.

WEF is a non-profit, community based organization whose mission is to encourage and support initiatives that cultivate meaningful learning experiences for our community.

WEF promotes classroom innovation and empowers teachers and students to meet the growing challenges of the 21st century. Through direct grants to individual classroom teachers and school administrators, WEF is dedicated to enhancing classroom curricular creativity and innovation in the Weston Public Schools. WEF provides a unique and effective vehicle for the community at large to utilize its fiscal and intellectual capital to ensure that creativity and innovation are staples of any student’s experience in the Weston Public Schools.

We are fortunate to live in a community committed to public education, rich in expertise, and generous in donating to worthwhile community efforts. We are counting on this tradition to provide the resources critical to our success both for our schools and community at large.

WEF Today.

WEF works closely with the Weston School Administration with a unique partnership, identifying needs and opportunities where its efforts can make a difference to teachers and children. WEF monies are used to fund new approaches to professional development and system-wide improvements that the schools could not otherwise afford. WEF seeks out and supports innovation and leadership among teachers and administrators alike.

WEF is proud to promote education throughout our community. We continue to enhance educational opportunities for Weston residents through our community grants, leading to creative programs and projects.
